Mike is the "brain child" of Carsley Comics. He has been collecting / dealing comics for 23 years. Mike is also owner / president / and chief bottle washer of our parent company Carsley Whetstone & Company.
His idea was to create a comic store that really cared about it's customers, and was the kind of place people would have fun buying stuff (comics are suppost to be fun right?)
Despite his serious business person exterior he is really a comic geek who loves reading / trading / and discussing all aspects of comics and comicdon.
If you do not see him walking around the store that is probably because he is hiding in his office reading the lastest issue of Cerebus, X-Men or Uncle Scrooge.
Paul Beck
By day Paul is a soft spoken comic book expert...by night he is the real Batman! Ok, maybe not, but Paul sure knows a thing or two about the DC universe, and other related comic fandom. He has been a collector since the late Silver age.
Paul is always happy to answer your questions on what's a good read this month, or to provide any advice you new collectors out there may need. One thing we cannot yet figure out is why he rushes off everytime we see the Bat signal in the clouds above...?...
Lucy Raposo
Ever wonder why your internet order from us came packaged so perfectly that 17 circus elephants, 2 train wrecks, and a small detonated nuclear device cannot damage it? That is our trademark "Lucy Packaging". Lucy is our Wonder Woman. She does however, dissapear once in a while to Cuba (which explains her fluency in Spanish, and superb Pina Colada making skills!)
Bill Whetstone
Bill serves as our spiritual leader. As a founder of our parent company he is knowledgable in everything that is collectable. He is a super friendly guy, and really cares about all his customers.
Like Paul and Lucy he probably also has an alter-ego. Every month or so he "dissapears" to San Francisco. We once found a superhero costume in his office, and think he may actually be going on crime fighting business.
His favorite comic book expression is "oh, ya I read that as a kid", so you may have to push him out of the way to take a look at our great selection of Golden Age comics.
